Where do I start?

Is there is an application fee?

  • No, there is no application fee payable to the EDB. However if your current or prospective employee requires a work permit, there is a $230 work permit compliance fee payable to IRCC. 

Do I need a LMIA to hire through BMPNP II ?

  • No.

Skilled Workers

I submitted an Expression of Interest to the BMPNP II but haven't received a response yet. When can I expect to hear back?

  • Please note that submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee an invitation to apply. There is no specific timeline for when you might be selected. If you do not hear back from us within a calendar year, it means you have not been selected for that year. You may submit another Expression of Interest in the next calendar year.

Can I apply for both BMPNP II and MPNP?

  • Yes, you can submit an Expression of Interest to both programs. However, if you have already received a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) from MPNP or have an active immigration application with another provincial (outside Manitoba) or federal program, you should avoid applying to the BMPNP II.

Does work experience from outside of Manitoba or Canada count?

  • Yes. As long as the work expereince is a qualifying work expereince, the location of the expereince is not a factor. 

Do I need a LMIA to be eligible for the program?

  • No.

I am currently on a student visa, can I apply?

  • No. 

Can any employer provide a job offer?

  • No. Only approved businesses can hire through BMPNP II.

Can your office provide me with a list of approved employers?

  • No. If you have a job offer from a business in Brandon, ask the business to contact our office to start your application.
